Someone who is governed more by intellectual decisions than by emotional decisions does not always make the right choices, eventhough they sat down and thought about it for a long period of time. An example that shows this is when Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelly's novel Frankenstein takes the time to think about if he should or should not create a companion for his first creature. After he takes the time to think about his decision, he came to the conclusion to not make a second creature because it could possibly turn out to be like the first and become evil.
In Victor Frankenstein's situation there are both positive and negitive consequences. A positive consequence for Victor is that without making a second creature there is not the chance of two creatures walking around the world creating evil. Another positive consequence for Victor is that he would not have to spend many months working and making himself very unhealthy. Also he would not have to isolate himself and make Elizebeth wait even longer till they were able to get married.
A negitive consequence is that by not making the second monster and destroying it the first monster got enraged and wanted to take revenge on Victor for still making him without a companion. The way the monster was going to get revenge on Victor was by killing all of his loved ones. The monster wanted to make sure that Victor would know how the monster feels like everyday of his life with no one to share his happiness with, or to even be loved by. Also by him not making another creature this did not solve his problem of the monster becoming good or more evil than before.

Everyone needs love
Every person on earth needs companionship or love. Having love and companionship can be very important to the human experience in several ways. One reason why it is important to have love is that having love gives us all a inner strength to live a meaningful life. Since we are happy when we have love, this can give us the motivation we need to become successful in life and bring even more happiness upon us.
A second reason why we need companionship is to stay sane in life. People who do not have anyone to tell there problems to or just have fun with start to get a little insane. When people keep all of their feelings bottled up inside, they tend to reach a breaking point and when this point is reached sometimes they can not be helped. So to avoid this from happening people need to have companionship with at least one person in their lifetime.
A third reason would be for reproduction. If no one had love or companionship it would be hard for one to reproduce. Reproduction is the reason why we exist today. Without reproduction life here on earth would cease to exist, and then we would not be able to have love and companionship because there would be nobody alive to have it. So therefore, it is a repeating cycle that is very much needed for everybody.

Rejection
Rejection, is something that we all would love to avoid but however not everyone can. Rejection is the act of recjecting or also known as rufusal. In this day and age people can see rejection no matter where they look someone is always getting rejected for some reason. Rejection is mostly based on someone judging another. If a person is a little bigger then someone else, not as pretty, or even just being shy they will be rejected because no one wants to give them a chance to actually get to know them and why they are the way they are.
Genneta is the new girl at Jonhsonville High School. She has just moved from Alabama to Tennessee with her parents because her dad had got a new high paying job. Genneta is not like all the other girls in the south she is very tiny while others are on the plump side. On the first day of school she walks into class and the teacher intoduces her, after everyone starts whispering and laughing. Genneta already knows why they are laughing but she can not help the way she looks, she has a disease. A coulple of months later she still has no friends, no one wants to talk to her because she is different. No one ever gave her a chance.
Since no one gave her a chance and kept repeadily rejecting her she just kept to herself. She never told anyone even her parents what goes through her mind or anything. Genneta got extremly depressed and needed to go to a doctor to get treated. Kids usually do not realize what rejection could do to a person. Everyone should learn to at least give a person the chance, they might end up becoming bestfriends with this person even though they never thought they would.

Knowing what to do
There are several ways that personal responsibility could be defined. The way I would describe personal responsibility is taking action or punishment for something that has been done that might have been wrong. Also I would describe it as not putting the blame on another person or even relying on a person to do something that he or she said they would do for another person.
An example or a situation that shows taking personal responsibility is simply doing the dishes after eating dinner or what ever meal that has been ate. When being a teenager or almost one, the child should be able to take care of their own dishes. By rinsing of the dish and putting it in the dishwasher or simply whereever it goes. Without taking personal responsibility for the action taken the plates could possibly turn moldy if nothing gets done.
Knowing whether or not to take some responsibility in the situation mainly can be told by what the situation is. In the example given the teenage child would take responsibility if the dishes became moldy because with growing up and becoming an adult the child should not have to still rely on the parent to clean up after them with everything they do. If the child does not learn when growing up they never will when older. This however will also take responsibility on the parent because it is their job to teach and punish the child if he or she does not do what they have been asked to do.

A new adventure.
Some might ask what are ways in which people thoughout the ages have explored the unknown. Well there are millions of answers for this question. One could answer Christopher Columbus. Someone lse might even answer Ablert Einstein. Christopher Columbus in the 15th century was a man who went out to find new discoveries such as continents and oceans. As for Albert, the man who discoverd how to make a lightbulb, he lead us all to where we are today with technology.
Such individuals devoted themselves to a life of discovery and exploration mainly for one reason, to help others. They knew that what they were doing would take much devotion but in the end it would be worth it all. Even still today we have many people who are trying to find cures for diseases and much more. This is not to just benifit themselves but they are trying to make the world a better place for us all to live in together.
The sacrifices due to their devotion involves several things. For one, a major sacrifice is spending time with family and loved ones. Being out in the ocean or even in a lab all night could cause them to loose the connection that they use to have with those members. Some other scienties or discoverers on the other hand could of possibly given up their own life to help find a new discovery that one has not found yet. One they all have in common to what they have sacrificed is
sleep and time for themselves. With being how devoted they all were, they do not have time to be selfish and go spoil themsleves. All that what these important people did though was worth it in the long run.
